This is me and my husband at the ball this year. Although I had strep throat with tonsillitis, I was still able to attend the dinner/ceremony part and be in bed by 9 pm...not the most ideal Ball situation, but I did get a night away from the kids to sleep, sleep, sleep. I told my husband we'll just have to make up for it next year and I'm sure we will. I may even wear the same dress since I only wore this for about 3 hours!
You are not old and you and your husband look amazing. I hope you had as much fun as you could at your ball with strep throat and I'm glad you got a night away with your husband. My husband and I have been married for 24 years and there are years that we don't get the opportunity to get away for a night, but when the chance comes we take it. Hope you are feeling better.
