Recently Engaged

As the title suggests I am recently engaged. Actually it happened right around the time of our last blog entries. August 7th to be exact. My fiancee's proposal wasn't exactly traditional. He just asked while we were in the car (l0l). He had taken me to pick out my engagement ring the day before but he hadn't actually asked me. The circumstances around the time that this happened made quite unusual so I didn't care that he didn't get down on one knee. I only cared about the happiness I felt and the joy I saw in his face. My fiancee was deployed when we received the news that his older brother had passed away so he was brought back for 2 weeks. During this time is when he proposed. I know this might seem like an awful time to get engaged but it worked well for us. His mother was so down and depressed that my fiancee just grabbed my ring and showed her. I wasn't there at the time but he said she started crying tears of joy. We don't plan on getting married for at least 2 years. I would like him to be out of the military, for me to have my degree or to be close to being done, and I would like to have some money saved up to actually pay for a wedding. Our story is a little different and not very traditional but I wouldn't change a thing.
